AFE's Blade Runner GT series intercooler for your 14-15 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel makes for a huge improvement over your stock intercooler. It is important to remember that your intercooler is just as important for keeping cold, dense air flowing to your engine as a cold air intake. Anytime you can increase the amount of cool air you'll see gains in both horsepower and torque.
AFE corrects the stock intercooler by utilizing a much larger 3" bar and plate core design and then couples that with a set of huge end tanks. Throw in a series of intercooler tubes and you've got 15% better airflow than your stock system.
The intercooler itself is constructed from aluminum and the end tanks are created with 3/16" TIG-Welded aluminum plates. The large 3" billet aluminum inlets and outlets connect to the 3" mandrel bent, powder coated aluminum tubing. The smooth transition bends throughout the tubing means lower turbulence and more airflow. AFE also includes 5-ply heavy duty couplings as well as high quality stainless steel clamps which make for a secure connection. Built directly into the system, the intercooler features a 1/8" NPT brass breather vent that drains condensation and can be plugged--if desired--by a 1/8" NPT plug. The BladeRunner Intercooler is rated to 200psi, ideal for high boost situations.
Installation is a snap. The BladeRunner system utilizes your factory mounting locations which makes for a hassle installation. The kit includes all the necessary hardware as well as comprehensive instructions to help you through the process.
